This just in, thrifting is back!
I remember as a kid, getting clothes from the thrift store was not cool and I was always embarrassed to wear my second-hand clothes to school.
Now, thrifting is in. In fact, thrifting is the new trend!
The sale of used clothes is expected to exceed $77 billion by 2025, more than double the amount from four years ago. The $28 billion industry is expected to eclipse fast fashion by 2029.

With the younger generations moving toward sustainability in hopes of saving the environment, Gen-Z has moved to getting second-hand clothing to be fashion-forward and eco-friendly.
Brands have seen this shift in values and jumped on the vintage clothing train with apps like Depop where users can sell second-hand clothing they own or have found at a thrift store to other users. This makes thrifting easier than having to search through racks of clothes in the hopes of finding a good item. On Depop, users can search for specific items they want to add to their closet.
For those who enjoy the hunt, we have some thrifting tips for you.
Thrifting tips
Know your stores:
Some thrift stores have daily deals or special offers that can help lower the cost of your haul.
Learn when the store is restocked so you can be the first to search through the items.
Look everywhere:
In thrift stores, things get moved around often. It's good practice to look through every section in case something isn't in the correct location.
Visit different locations:
Not every thrift store is created equal. Visit different stores or chains to learn which stores have better items.
College towns usually have a good amount of trendy items donated to thrift stores, so that could be a good start!
You are not limited to brick-and-mortar stores! Garage and estate sales also are great options.
Know what to wear:
Some stores don't have dressing rooms for you to try on your finds. Wear tight-fitting clothes, such as leggings/biker shorts and a tank top to help you try on items without using the fitting room.
